Where to begin… perhaps with the dog that changed everything. This is the shorter version of our story, though if you’d like to know more, you’ll find pieces of it shared throughout my social pages.

In 2010, while scrolling Facebook, I came across a rescue’s plea. They had posted a video of a dog sitting calmly in a kennel at a shelter—calm while chaos was going on all around him. I had helped many dogs and cats find loving homes over the years, but the moment his video played on the screen on my computer, nothing else mattered. I had to help him.  I knew he was different, but I had no idea what this dog was about to do to my life.

He was at a very high-kill shelter, and the rescue was desperately searching for a foster. I immediately phoned a friend who agreed to take him in. He arrived at my friends house and, well, he came home with me that evening, and in truth, I knew from the very first glance that he was never leaving.

I named him Deuce.

From the very beginning, Deuce transformed my life in ways I could never have imagined. He gave me the good sense to walk away from a relationship that was dimming my light. He guided me fully into dog training, a path that has now spanned more than seventeen years. Through him I built a business, bought a house, found lifelong friendships, met my husband.

It sounds like a lot for one dog to be responsible for—but Deuce was never just a dog.

He was the very best part of my life. My heart. My soul. My truest friend. He gave me a life I could never have dreamed of on my own. Through him, I was able to help hundreds of dogs and the people who love them. Deuce trained so many dog's I lost count, he helped fearful dog's grow confidence, he helped aggressive/reactive dog's come out of defense and he taught puppies better than any human I have ever met.  And even after his passing, he continues to lead me—to new chapters, old passions, and the places where healing waits.

Before becoming a dog trainer, I spent years creating jewelry. When Deuce left this world, the grief was all-consuming. The only moments I could breathe without sobbing were the moments I spent searching for something beautiful that would let me carry him with me each day.

That search brought me back to a forgotten part of myself—the creator I had once been.

Imogene Bijoux was born from that love, that loss, and that longing to keep close what means everything. There is so much more to our story, but for now, know this: this brand is our next journey together.

Every piece I create is made with intention, compassion, and the deep understanding of what it means to miss someone you love. My hope is that these keepsakes bring comfort, closeness, and a way to hold their presence near—always.
